Emmett

Sonic is an 8 month old neutered male. He can be very shy with new people but is very friendly with familiar faces. He has recently learned that he can climb and likes to find the highest place in the building to look down on you from. He is food motivated and will do anything for the right treat. In his down time he loves to cuddle up with his brother Tails and would really love to find his forever home with his brother, best friend and partner in crime.
Tails is an 8 month old neutered male. His name comes from his strikingly long tail with a white tip at the end. This is one sophisticated boy. I’'m sure if he could read he would be the kind of person that would love to curl up with a good book. Tails, like his brother Sonic, is quite shy with new faces but has no problem showing his personality to the people he knows. Watch these two boys interact and you will be sure to want to take them both!!
Emmett is a 2 1/2 year old neutered male. He is grey in colour, very lean and atheletic, with a very affectionate personality.Emmett was presented to the Limestone City Animal Hospital after he was rescued from the Kingston Humane Society when he and his brother Jasper fell off a balcony and fractured their hind limbs. Dr. de Wolde surgically repaired the brothers and both have prospered ever since.

Dr. Mark A. de Wolde graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1993 after which he received the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Award and the Hill’s Nutrition Award. A portion of Dr. de Wolde’s education was completed at Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands.After spending six years in the Greater Napanee & Kingston area, Dr. de Wolde spent some time practicing in Kingston Upon Thames in Surrey, England. In 2001, he returned to Southern Ontario and established both the Bath Village and Lennox & Addington Animal Hospitals. In 2004, Dr. de Wolde created a business relationship with long time friend, Dr. Jason Shepherd. Both Veterinarians co-founded the Upper Canada Veterinary Group; an animal hospital management team. Subsequently in 2006, the Limestone City Animal Hospital was opened in beautiful downtown Kingston. Dr. de Wolde has special interests in both orthopaedic and laser surgery.Dr. de Wolde is married to his beautiful wife, Jessica; together they have two handsome little boys – Owen & Benjamin. Four “fur-babies” also reside in the de Wolde household, including Joey (a friendly Walker Hound who travels with Dr. de Wolde between hospitals), Taco, Nacho and Salsa.Outreach is very important to the de Wolde family. As avid contributors to World Vision, Lennox & Addington branch of the OSPCA, Kingston Humane Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Kingston’s annual Paws for Hope Walkathon, Relay for Life, Night in Blue, Missionary Alliance and other local charities, they believe in supporting those in need.Dr. de Wolde has been very active in the fitness community. He enjoys many activities outside of the home, including numerous sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball and golf), movies and experiencing the great cuisine of local Kingston restaurants.---------Dr. Jason Shepherd was born in Clinton Creek, Yukon and moved to the Kingston – Napanee area from the Niagara region in 2004. He graduated from the University of Guelph with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees in 1998. Prior to practicing in Eastern Ontario, he practiced in the Waterloo region and Niagara-on-the-Lake.Dr. de Wolde and Dr. Shepherd co-found the Upper Canada Veterinary Group network in 2005 and the Limestone City Animal Hospital in 2007. Dr. Shepherd’s special interests in Veterinary Medicine include diagnostic Ultrasonography, internal medicine and general surgery.

1. Can I choose my Veterinarian?For consistency of patient care, we encourage pet owners to establish a strong relationship with one of our Veterinarians; we will even record a "preference" in your file. And although we make every effort to assure an appointment with your Veterinarian of choice, we can't always guarantee it.2. Can I bring my pet to either location?Once registered with our hospitals, you are free to bring your pets to either location. Picking up prescriptions or foods can also be supplied from either location.3. Do I need an appointment?We encourage appointments to assure optimum service and Doctor availability; however, we also provide "emergency" services, and thus accept patients requiring immediate attention.4. Do you offer after hours emergency service?Our hospitals utilize a comprehensive after hours service through the Kingston Regional Pet Hospital for patients requiring attention after regular hours. See our Contacts page for more information.5. Can I pick up medications over the counter?Veterinarians are bound by the Pharmacy Act, and thus need to have a current client/doctor/patient relationship. Even if the condition seems similar to a recent problem, a Veterinarian may be obligated to recheck the patient before the dispensment of medicaitons.6. Can I use "human" medicines for my pet?Most human products have not been licensed for use in animals, thus they have not had complete efficacy and toxicity studies to help assure effectiveness and safety. Some human products are toxic to dogs and cats. Veterinarians are obilgated to use "veterinary use only" products if available; any such usage outside of this requirement is considered "off label" and should be declared to the client.

Night in Blue

KHS Bowlathon
Each year the Frontenac Children Aids Society puts on a Gala in the Spring to raise money for the children's fund which gives disadvantaged kids the chance to be involved in summer camps, sports, recreational & music lessons. Our hospitals participate and donate to this cause annually.
The Kingston Humane Society has many events throughout the year to raise money for shelter animals. Each year, the Limestone City Animal Hospital raises money and participates in this fun loving event each year

Paws for Hope

Santa Paws
A primary sponsor for many years, the Limestone City Animal Hospital helps the Canadian Cancer Society by raising money through participation in a dog walk held in the early fall of each year at Lemoine's Point .
Founded by the Lennox & Addington Animal Hospital, this Christmas event is held each December on location in Napanee to help raise money for the Lennox & Addington Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The Lennox & Addington Animal Hospital was originally an art studio. The warm, rich colours and high ceilings have often been related to "walking into a spa". The examination rooms are lined with comfortable seating and there is some beautiful photographic artwork on display.
